MIND8 and EPLAN merged

MIND8, specializing in variant management and developer of the EPLAN Engineering Center (EEC), has now been integrated into the company structure of EPLAN

Two Friedhelm Loh Group companies merged as of the beginning of 2013: MIND8, specializing in variant management and developer of the EPLAN Engineering Center (EEC), has now been integrated into the company structure of EPLAN Software & Service GmbH & Co. KG. The planned international marketing of the EEC accelerated the merger of the two organisations within the Friedhelm Loh Group.

Monheim, 14 January 2013. MIND8 and EPLAN merged on 01/01/2013. Both companies, which were previously cooperation partners and which have been working as affiliated companies under the umbrella of the Friedhelm Loh Group since 2007, will now fly the same EPLAN flag. MIND8, which, as the developers of the EPLAN Engineering Center (EEC), has long been closely linked to the fate of the Monheim-based solution provider, is now directly incorporated into the EPLAN company structure.

"This merger of the two organisational units sets the stage for the international rollout of the EEC," explains Maximilian Brandl, Chairman of the Executive Board at EPLAN.

Dr Marco Litto, one of the directors of MIND8, adds: "We want to roll out the technology of functional engineering on an industry-oriented basis, starting from the existing references with leading providers of mechanical and plant engineering. This requires even closer cooperation, especially on presales." Along the same lines, there are plans to expand the EEC development team based in Stuttgart. The new industry management system with a dedicated section in the organisation will also represent significant added value to customers.

The management team at EPLAN Software & Service under the management of Maximilian Brandl, Chairman of the Executive Board, will remain in place with reinforcements from the former MIND8 executive board. Haluk Menderes (Sales & Marketing Director), Dieter Pesch (Development & Product Management), Bernd Schewior (Professional Services), Dr Jörg Lewek (EEC Development ) and Dr Marco Litto (EEC Business Development/PreSales) will jointly represent the rapidly expanding activities of the solution provider which finished 2012 with a clear two-figure growth rate.
